Shane & Shane | The One You Need

Okay so, this is awkward weird i never really compose thoughts and what i “feel” (ew, lol) here so much but i just wanna let this out.

So on fridays, since its the end of the week I like to reward myself a little bit for working hard & coz I finally was able to do good on my quiz this week. So as a reward I got myself some Starbucks this morning before work and they had these Pick of the Week card thingamajiggers where you get a free song on iTunes and i took one, i downloaded the free song on my iPod since theres free wifi and on my iTunes homepage i noticed that Shane & Shane released a new album called The One You Need, and so i downloaded the kind of the main song on the album which is called, you guessed it, The One You Need. I’ve heard this song and even watched the music video for it a couple weeks back and i liked it, but then i never really listened to it. So i hopped in my car, hooked the aux cable to my iPod and listened.

Then after about 3 minutes it just kind of hit me. (not a car, haha)… the message of the song. I know it was a song meant for parent’s to dedicate to their children. But what i reaaalllyy got from it was.. Hey, all those times i tried to reward and motivate myself to do better, i did it with things of these world that really wont benefit me in the long run. The song talks about how the human being, a.k.a me and you, will fail at times and that relying on myself to motivate myself isn’t the way. But more importantly, the lyrics go darlin, Jesus is the one you need. BAM! JESUS is the one you need, the one WE need. I mean, duhh, as Christians we should know! but honestly, I sometimes fall into trying to control every single aspect of my life. Desiring things without really consulting with God if this is really necessary . So well, i dont know how I can really stress this out guys, and i kind of dont know how to end this post either lolz. What i want to share is that sometimes we, well maybe just me,  needs to clear our minds of thinking of the future and pursuing all these things, because we cannot disregard the blessings we receive from God every single day, the very first breath when we wake up is like a reminder for that. I just wanna say that if we look to bringing glory to God in everything that we do, we wont need anything else.

like Matthew 6:33 : But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

This is what we need to strive for, believe and bring Him glory for theres a greater reward awaiting us. And since God is on our side, then whats there to be anxious about. i guess thats all the feelings (ew, lol) i have.
